Despite the agreement to form the district in the year 1956 itself, the dream of Beawar, yearning for the announcement of the district, was fulfilled on March 17, 2023. Colonel George Dixon laid the foundation stone for the establishment of Beawar on 1 February 1836. In the year 1839 AD, Merwara State was declared in the presence of 144 Merwara Battalion. Beawar city was made the headquarters of this state. Till his death on 25 June 1857 AD, Dixon remained the Commissioner and Superintendent of Merwara and Ajmer United English State.
